First Snow

19/1/2013

When I look out in to my garden, I see a covering of snow. Everything is white and clean and sparkling. Icicles hang from the guttering and frosted spiders webs decorate the fence. Where once there was water there is now ice. And where once there was mud lays a  blanket of snow.

The dogs have loved every minute of playing in the snow,  they have been chasing one another, burying their toys and foraging through the snowy ground.  There is definitly nothing better than playing with the dogs in the snow.  Here are a few pictures of our morning walk through the fields, we were out for hours stopping periodically only to remove the snowballs that gather on the dogs feet!

Raggi Comes to Stay

On Sunday Raggi came to stay! He is staying for a couple of weeks and is a very well behaved boy.  Raggi is Ruby and Daisy's Dad.  He is an Apricot and White Mismarked Miniature Poodle with the most wonderful temperament.  He is such a character and lives up to his name with his tight curly coat growing in all directions!

Ruby and Daisy adore their Dad and all three dogs have been inseparable.  Daisy and Raggi in particularly are as thick as thieves when out on a walk, sticking together and chasing one another about.

All three dogs are completely ball mad so spend a lot of time playing out in the garden with a tennis ball! They are easily pleased! We are hoping for snow this weekend so that we can go for a long walk through the snowy woods and fields.

Raggi is available at public stud, he is KC registered, Optigen DNA tested CLEAR for Prcd-PRA and has a good hip score of 4:4.  If anyone is interested in using him at stud please contact me and I will provide you with the details of his owner, my friend Sue.

Walking with Archie

Saturday was a bitterly cold grey day in Surrey but as hardy dog walkers we were not to be deterred from our usual morning stroll! This Saturday we were joined by the lovely Gomes Family and Archibald Quentin III or "Archie" as he is better known! Archie is a white and chocolate parti coloured Cockapoo who also happens to be Ruby's first born son! Archie is just shy of six months old and is developing into such a wonderful little dog with help and guidance from his new family.

We trundled through the woods with the dogs having fun up ahead, zig zagging across the paths, following the scent of squirrels and chasing the birds. Archie loves to play with a tennis ball, a trait he has definitely inherited from his Mum. They all took it in turns to carry around the tennis ball that by the end of the walk it had totally fallen apart! Daisy in her role as chief baby sitter was keen to make sure Archie was on his best behaviour while Ruby was too busy hogging the ball carrying duties.

A great time was had by all, the dogs were suitably covered in mud so it was baths all round. Ruby and Daisy both muttered doggy obscenities as I showered them off for about the 20th time that week. As they settled for their afternoon sleep they occasionally threw me dirty looks as thanks for ridding them of their dirty legs!

It’s nice to feel appreciated.
