Ruby's puppies are one week old today. Ruby is being a fantastic Mum, she is doting on her new babies and making sure all of their needs are being taken care of. The puppies have all doubled their birth weight and continue to grow in front of our eyes. We have some lovely colours and markings developing and can't wait to see how these little beauties turn out.

The puppies are three weeks old today. They have really developed over the past week and are now moving freely around the puppy pen. They have started to interact with one another and with Daisy and have even started wagging their tails! The puppy pen has been moved into a busy area of the house and we are continuing with our socialisation programme, ensuring we introduce as many normal household sounds and activities. I will try and get a video of them playing in the coming week :) Some action shots:)
The puppies are all two weeks old. They are growing in front of our eyes and now all have they eyes open. They are beginning to move more independently around the pen and within the coming few days will begin to start interacting with one another. We are at our beach house on the South Coast so they have been travelling in the car with no ill effects. Daisy is still doting on her babies and is doing a fantastic job with them.
Puppies are one week old, they have all almost doubled their body weight and are getting rather chunky!
They continue to do very well and Daisy is being a great Mum. If she happens to pop away she only needs to hear a small noise and she is back fussing them. We are once again thrilled to announce the arrival of Ruby's seven beautiful babies born on Sunday 3rd August. After having two litters of six previously, Ruby has surprised us with this extra little bundle! Like Daisy, Ruby has four boys and three girls ranging from cream to apricot to red. We are super excited at the arrival of this litter and cannot wait to see how these little guys develop. As always Ruby has been a super Mum. She has battled through the heat and has been as attentive as ever over her precious new babies.
We are currently hard at work, settling our Mums and babies and making sure all their needs are being met and hope to announce any availability over the coming week. So, without any further delay, here they are. James :) We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Daisy's seven beautiful babies born on 21 July 2014. We have four boys (two black, one apricot and one white and black parti) and three girls (one black, one black phantom and one white and black parti). Mum and babies are doing really well despite Daisy giving birth during the middle of a heat wave! She has coped incredibly well and is the perfect Mum. The puppies are all gaining weight daily and thriving. It would be naive of me however not to mention that the first few weeks are critical in their development. Puppies are born in a very immature state and we work tirelessly to ensure they are given the care and attention they need... Daisy included.
May we please ask that you do not email asking about availability, within the next few weeks we will update our news page with any availability we may have. Ruby's due date is fast approaching and once puppies are born we will again announce the litter followed by any availability so please keep an eye on this page. We look forward to providing weekly updates and hope that you enjoy following our puppy journey. Also keep an eye on our Facebook page for daily picture updates! :-) Our 2014 waiting lists are on hold. Once the litters have been born and numbers confirmed they will be introduced on our website and we will invite visitors on a first come first serve basis. Therefore please keep an eye on our website if you are interested in either litter. We will not be taking any more names prior to the litters being born.
This is a long overdue post as we have been very busy here over the last few months. Back in February Ruby and Daisy went for their annual BVA eye exams and I am pleased to report that they both passed with flying colours. As spring approaches the girls are in fine form and are looking great. Their coats are in great condition and they are enjoying all the extra exercise now that the evenings are longer. We had a great beach walk in the sunshine this weekend where Ruby, Daisy and Dottie enjoyed running in and out of the sea and playing along the shoreline with their other doggy friends! Ruby is now commonly known as the ditch dog as she loves nothing more than finding dirty ditches to wade through. They all love it... Daisy loves to swim and retrieve her ball from the water and I have to keep my eye on Dottie who is so confident she thinks nothing of diving head first into the nearest lake or pond.
Dottie, our rising star is now six months old and is proving to be a wonderful new addition to our family. She is such a loving girl and loves nothing more than to cuddle up after a long day of playing with the older girls. She has a fabulous fleece coat which has tones of red and caramel. She has also retained most of her sable markings for now having only had a light trim around her eyes so she can see! Some of her markings may disappear if she is clipped but I am going to try and keep her in a full coat as it is fairly easy to maintain for the time being. Last week I was at Crufts in search of certain supplies ready for our hopeful new arrivals later in the year. Crufts is such a great day out whether looking at the different breeds, watching agility or shopping. I did plenty of the latter and the girls done well with a haul of new toys and some comfy new bedding. We are looking forward to summer approaching and hoping for an eventful few months of new arrivals. As soon as I have any updates I will of course be posting our news. Our 2014 waiting lists are now on hold. If you have filled out our enquiry question form we will be in contact soon. Please note that we have received a high number of enquiries. If you are unsuccessful and are prepared to wait we will re-open the lists once we have a final litter count.
Our waiting lists are now open for our upcoming summer/autumn litters. Please see our Future Litters page for more information regarding these planned matings. We ask that you send your initial enquiry by email to jarudacockapoos@gmail.com with the subject 'Puppy Enquiry' and we will send all relevant information by return. We also ask for some more detailed information about yourselves. Please answer in as much detail as possible as this will help to assist us in finding the best possible homes for our puppies with those who are prepared for the commitment. Please note that all names taken for our lists are pending face to face meetings as we like to meet all our 'potential puppy parents'. It is important to us to find the right fit, not just a cute puppy.
Above all please remember Mother Nature is in ultimate control. All dates are approximate and not all matings result in pregnancy. Everything happens for a reason. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask :-) James |
